This session is about creating a stylised piece of artwork, taking inspiration from the 19th/20th Century French artist Henri Rousseau. The painting shown here was painted in 1909 and is called ‘Two Monkeys in the Jungle’. We will look at how he achieved depth in his paintings and create our own versions.

Rousseau Inspired Jungle – 7th & 8th November
Join us on either Thurs 7th or Fri 8th November with a choice of time slots for our Rousseau-Inspired jungle scene in acrylics. Henri Rousseau was self-taught and dedeveloped a naive style which came to be admired by other artists such as Picasso. We will look at the depth he achieved in his work and demonstrate how to replicate this.
